TutorTrivia - E-learning = green learning
As a child, do you recall your mother kicking up a fuss because you forgot to turn a light off? While she may have been doing it just to save money on electricity, today conserving energy
can really do mother Earth a favor. Not only can turning off appliances you’re not using slash your electricity bill, it can also help protect the environment for future generations. So, how can e-learning help the environment?
One of the biggest ways is by taking out the need to travel to a physical classroom. Using just one gallon of gas in your car can produce about 20 pounds of CO2 and a single tree absorbs only 13 pounds of CO2 over an entire year! If you drive to a class just once a week, you could be producing upwards of 1040 pounds of CO2 a year. As you can see, staying at home for your class is not only a great way to reduce your carbon emissions, but it can also save you at lot of money at the pump.
Another benefit to e-learning is that you don’t need any paper. Think about all the handouts, notebooks, and textbooks that are needed in the traditional classroom. If everything you need for your class is on your computer, you’ll be saving a lot of trees, and be cutting out the energy that’s needed to turn those trees into paper.
