In Taiwan, people enjoy going to hot springs and eating hot pot on cold days. Some go for herbal tonics, such as Chinese herbal mutton and sesame seasoned chicken stews. The more adventurous people drive to the middle of Taiwan and gather on Hehuan Mountain to witness the rare sightings of wintry snow on the chilliest days. Lastly, for those who have saved up for such occasions, they choose to get out of Taiwan and experience the beauty of winter elsewhere.
While people in Asian countries tend to stay indoors, in North America where snow is abundant, a majority of people enjoy taking part in outdoor sports activities; snowboarding, skiing, and ice hockey are just a few. Children enjoy having snowball fights and building snowmen during their free time. In the coldest areas, people also enjoy ice fishing and dog sledding.
