The Venice Film Festival will be the first in-person major film festival since the pandemic began. As Italy has gotten infections under control with a strict lockdown, summer travel has been bouncing back. However, participants are still required to wear face masks during screenings and take a coronavirus test.

There are a few changes to the festival as well. The red carpet will not allow fans and the general public to watch in person, and movie-goers will have to reserve seats online to ensure every other seat is left vacant.
