Next year, new acoustic cameras will hit Taiwan’s streets to pinpoint which vehicles exceed the designated decibel limits. Also, some legislators have proposed amending current regulations to double the maximum fine for such offenses. Currently, violators are subject to fines between NT$1,800 and NT$3,600. Once the regulation is amended, they are subject to fines of up to NT$7,200.
