The 29th annual Art Taipei fair brings together 138 exhibitors, 89 from Taiwan and 38 from eight other countries and regions around the world. It is the largest Art Taipei ever held in terms of the number of participating exhibitors and artworks being shown.
Two of the highlights at this year’s event include the yellow sculpture Pumpkin and the celluloid installation Kusamatrix by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama.
The organizer said that trying to plan an art fair during the pandemic was far from easy, and they encouraged Taiwan’s galleries to look beyond the island and strive to show works by Taiwanese artists abroad.
第29屆台北國際藝術博覽會近期順利落幕，展覽匯聚了138家參展商，其中89家來自台灣，38家來自全球8個國家和地區。以參展商數量和展出作品數量來看，今年是台北國際藝博會展有史以來規模最大的一次。
今年活動的兩件重點作品為國際知名的日本藝術家草間彌生的黃色雕塑「南瓜」和的影像裝置“Kusamatrix”。
展覽主辦方表示，在疫情期間舉辦台北國際藝博會不是一件簡單的任務，它們也鼓勵台灣的畫廊放眼國際，不要畫地自限，積極爭取在國外展示台灣藝術家的作品。
