Following the Black Lives Matter protests, the entertainment industry has also come under pressure to give non-white actors more opportunities.

For example, the 30-year-old US animated comedy series The Simpsons has faced criticism over white actor Hank Azaria’s voiceover of Indian-American character Apu. Critics said Apu’s accent reflects how a white guy is stereotyping Indians.
