The first double-decker Taipei Restaurant Bus hits the road

In mid-December, the Taipei Department of Information and Tourism launched the first 26-seat double-decker fine-dining bus in Taipei. People who hop on the bus will enjoy a gourmet meal and sightsee several renowned landmarks in the downtown area at the same time.

One round trip may take 2 hours for dinner at the price of NT$1,800 and 1.5 hours for afternoon tea at NT$1,000. The famous five-star hotel Regent Taipei will prepare the food for guests in the lower deck kitchen of the bus.

From Tuesday to Sunday, the bus will provide afternoon tea service once a day beginning at 14:30, and dinner service twice a day at 17:30 and 20:00. Diners must book the tables three days before their trip.

知名的美國靈魂樂歌手雷查爾斯(Ray Charles)曾經唱紅了一首歌曲名為《Hit The Road Jack》,歌詞中便唱到「Hit the road Jack and don’t you come back no more.」(上路吧傑克,永遠別再回來了!)

例句:No matter how much I want to stay, I still have to hit the road now.

  • fine-dining (n.)
  • hop (v.) 跳
  • gourmet (adj.)
  • renowned (adj.)  知名的
  • book a table (餐廳)訂位
