不再污名！台大開設月經通識課　NTU offers course on Menstruation

National Taiwan University is offering the first gen-ed course on menstruation in Taiwan. Taught jointly by instructors from a wide range of disciplines, the course, titled “Period: Theory, Thoughts, and Actions,” covers menstruation-related topics, including biological and medical issues, as well as cultural representation and stigmatization of periods. Over 1,500 students signed up for the 100 spots in the class.

Ruby Huang, the main instructor of the course, said she hopes more discussion could help erase period stigma and unveil structural problems that are usually taken for granted in daily life. The course hopes to promote period equality and women’s rights in regard to periods.

月經的英文是menstruation，這是比較正式的用字，可翻成「經期」，動詞型態則是menstruate例句：

另一個比較口語常用的說法，是period，也就是跟「時期」、「句號」同一個字，是menstrual period（經期）的簡稱。這是名詞。
